This screen cast is designed to help sales representatives with software challenges they face while traveling. Although the employees receive an introduction to the software during orientation, the administrative support staff receives certain questions regularly from the Sales Reps while they are out on the road. Now this video can be used as a self-help tool. Even if Sales Reps continue to reach out to the administrative staff for assistance, the administrative staff can direct the Sales Reps to the video resources instead of trying to walk each Rep through the steps remotely.

This screen cast needed to be short and to the point so that it could quickly meet the needs of Sales Representatives while they were traveling.
The need was clear from the start of this project. Sales Reps needed to have a video source that they could follow along with while traveling. Call outs and mouse movements are used to draw the attention of the learner while the narration walks the learner through the content in a streamlined fashion.
Once the content was requested, I got to work on a script. My scripts usually include both the narration that I will record and a description of the visuals that will be included. While the visuals may be altered slightly during final production, it gives reviewers a better idea of my intention for each section. In order to expedite the production process, I require my subject matter experts to approve the script prior to recording to limit the need for re-recording. Once the script was revised and approved, I recorded the audio, captured the visuals, and added call outs as necessary. Final content was reviewed, approved, and posted on the company intranet.
These videos are continuing to be used as a quick reference and resource for issues with the software. Administrative staff have expressed sincere gratitude for the quick turn around and usefulness of these videos. This video has become one of a series of resources for the Sales Reps!
